Trump’s ‘MAGA’ Rallies Are Set To Restart In Two Weeks Despite Pandemic

President Donald Trump is restarting his “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) rallies in two weeks after the three months’ break due to the coronavirus.

“Americans are ready to get back to action and so is President Trump. The great American comeback is real and the rallies will be tremendous,” campaign manager Brad Parscale said in a statement. “You’ll again see the kind of crowds and enthusiasm that sleepy Joe Biden can only dream of.”

Trump also launched a new $ 10 million ad campaign, underlining the creation of 2.5 million new jobs in May, despite the pandemic of COVID-19. On Friday, Trump also held a press conference to discuss the highlights of the economic gains in the country.

The rallies are anticipated to similarly revolve around the jobs numbers. “The demand has been incredible to get going with the rallies. I just hear the music in the background. I’m saying, we’ve had rallies like nobody has ever had, and we would love to get back to that,” Trump told reporters in May.

Trump’s ratings, however, have fallen, as Joe Biden has risen in the polls. According to a new CNN poll, Trump has just a 38% approving rating and a 57% disapproval number. The rating has fallen seven points since last month. It is Trump’s worst approval rating since January 2019. In the same poll, Biden leads Trump by 55% to 41%.

It is unclear what safety precautions are going to be implemented during the rallies, as well as what venues are going to be used to accommodate the events. Despite some states starting first phases of reopening, the pandemic is still gripping the nation with more than 110,000 Americans dead since March – the highest coronavirus death rate in the world.

According to the White House’s guidelines, Phase One still does not allow the gatherings of more than 10 people. In Phase Two, congregations should be kept to no more than 50 people.
