Despite former President Donald Trump’s legal troubles, his popularity among the Republican Party, whose presidential nomination he is seeking, appears to have risen.
Trump has been charged with 90 felony counts in four cases, on the basis of allegations that he mishandled classified information, obstructed justice, conspired to reverse the results of the 2020 election and falsified business records to hide his hush money payment to an adult-film actor.
Additionally, there is an ongoing civil trial in New York over allegations of business fraud by him and his company.
But instead of getting him in trouble with his party, the indictment has increased his acceptance among Republicans, many of whom view him as a victim of a corrupt system.
