Trump White House Misses Second Deadline To Submit Its Mandated Financial Disclosure Form

The White House announced Thursday that President Donald Trump was granted a second 45-day extension to submit the White House’s 2019 annual financial disclosure form, which was due last week.

Since 1995, the White House has been required to deliver a report to Congress listing the title and salary of every White House office employee. The disclosures were initially due in May, but because of the coronavirus, the entire Trump administration was permitted an initial extra 45 days to comply with the deadline. With that break, administration-wide disclosures became due on June 29 rather than within the original May deadline.

On Wednesday, a White House official issued a statement, in which said that the president claimed that the “complicated” nature of the report, in tandem with the “coronavirus crisis and other matters,” such as racial justice demonstrations and 2020 presidential election, delayed its compliance to the deadline.

The statement said, “As a result, he’s been given an additional 45 days, but the president intends to file as soon as possible.”
