President Donald Trump signed s $2 trillion stimulus package on Friday in an attempt to help the economy and give aid to states affected by the coronavirus. The stimulus plan also includes sending checks to qualified Americans – and Trump wants his signature on every one of them.
The bill is the largest relief packed in American history. It sends aid to struggling Americans and increases unemployment benefits. “I want to thank Democrats and Republicans for coming together and putting America first,” Trump said on Friday in the Oval Office. “I never signed anything with a T on it.”
Trump told people close to him that he wants his signature on direct payment checks going out to Americans later on this year. The White House has yet to comment.
