Former President Donald Trump took a top secret documents about foreign government’s nuclear capabilities along with him when he left the White House.
One of the documents obtained by the FBI in their August search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence was a document containing information about a country’s nuclear defenses, according to the Washington Post.
The redacted search affidavit that was released at the end of August revealed that 184 classified documents were found at Mar-a-Lago, “including 67 documents marked as CONFIDENTIAL, 92 documents marked as SECRET and 25 documents marked as TOP SECRET.”
Some of the documents were so highly classified that even President Joe Biden‘s top officials don’t have access to them.

The new information highlights Trump’s claim that he declassified all the documents before taking them to Mar-a-Lago. His lawyers have not referred to that point in recent legal documents.
The Biden administration chose not to comment on the matter.
“We don’t have any calls to foreign governments to read out at this time on this particular issue as known,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters. “When it comes to this specific issue, the ODNI [office of the director of national intelligence] is in the middle of an assessment, and DOJ [justice department] is in the middle of an ongoing criminal investigation. So I’m not going to comment.”
This news continues the long list of events that began with the National Archives locating 15 boxes of secret documents at Mar-a-Lago at the beginning of the year. The Justice Department opened an investigation to figure out if Trump illegally stored classified documents after his presidency instead of turning them into the National Archives as required.
