Trump To Signature Appear On Every Stimulus Check, IRS Denies That Change Will Delay Payments

President Donald Trump‘s signature will appear on all the paper stimulus checks sent to American taxpayers.

Although two senior Treasury officials told the Washington Post, which first reported the decision, that the decision to include Trump’s name could delay the checks up to 20 weeks, the Internal Revenue Service told CNN this would not be the case.

“Thanks to hard work and long hours by dedicated IRS employees, these payments are going out on schedule, as planned, without delay, to the nation,” Jodie Reynolds, an IRS spokeswoman, said. “The IRS employees are delivering these payments in record time compared to previous stimulus efforts.”

The stimulus benefits, ranging up to $1200 depending on income, will first be sent to those with direct deposit information on file with the IRS. Some have already been deposited.
