Former President Donald Trump will travel to Nebraska on April 29 to promote his endorsed gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster, who was accused of groping by multiple women a week ago.
Trump’s Save America PAC announced Herbster as a guest speaker on Tuesday, despite the reports.
Last Thursday, the Nebraska Examiner came out with a story in which seven women, including state Sen. Julie Slama (R), claimed that Herbster had groped or kissed them. There were multiple eyewitnesses who confirmed the women’s allegations.
Slama released a statement after the Examiner‘s story was published.

“Charles W. Herbster has a lifetime record of empowering women to lead,” Herbster campaign manager Ellen Keast said in a statement. “His company, farm, and campaign are all run by women. Despite leading hundreds of employees, not once has his reputation been attacked in this disgusting manner.”
She added that the Examiner‘s report was a “political hit-piece build on 100% false and baseless claims.” The Examiner claims to be an independent, non-partisan publication.
Herbster denied the rumors himself in a statement posted on Twitter.
Herbster accused current Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts (R), who is term-limited, and Ricketts’ supported candidate Jim Pillen, of planting the story, but they adamantly denied involvement.
“It is ridiculous to suggest that I or anyone else conspired to talk (to) eight women and even more witnesses to make up stories about Charles Herbster. It’s just not plausible,” Ricketts said in a statement.
