HENDERSON, NEVADA - SEPTEMBER 13: U.S. President Donald Trump gives a thumbs-up after speaking at a campaign event at Xtreme Manufacturing on September 13, 2020 in Henderson, Nevada. Trump's visit comes after Nevada Republicans blamed Democratic Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak for blocking other events he had planned in the state.
Former President Donald Trump has been hinting that he might run for president again in 2024. Republicans leaders have mixed opinions about the possibility.
“President Trump did a lot of good. But he squandered a lot of his legacy after what happened after Nov. 3. And I think that’s a shame,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) told Politico. “Running for president, you’re under a lot of scrutiny. And all I can say is there’s a lot to talk about.”
Trump has been telling his allies that he intends to run again in 2024. However, the former president is facing multiple criminal and civil investigations into both the January 6 Capitol riot and his dealings at the Trump Organization.
