Trump Spends Time Tweeting & Golfing While Ignoring Official Duties

Despite a surge in coronavirus cases across the nation, President Donald Trump has spent little time working on the pandemic and spent the previous week in the White House posting tweets about his “victory” in the election making unfounded accusations about voter fraud and heading off for frequent golf outings.

The Trump administration so far has rejected Democrats demands that they need to “return to reality and accept the results.”

Political scientist Norman Ornstein criticized the president and said, “It seems clear Trump has checked out.”

“It’s not like this guy has shown a great interest in governing for four years, so to expect he will now accelerate the pace is a little fanciful. It’s pretty clear he feels wounded. Under those circumstances, the idea he’s going to pay more attention to the details of governance is ridiculous,” he added.

Trump’s White House staffers were quick to come to his defense and produced a list of executive actions the president has completed in the last week.

The listed included Trump banning U.S. investment in Chinese military companies, sending aid to Florida during the recent hurricane and celebrating U.S. Marine Corps anniversary.

When responding to reporters, White House spokesman Judd Deere commented, “Any suggestion that the President has given up on governing is false. Just as he promised, President Trump is fighting hard for a free and fair election while at the same time carrying out all of his duties to put America First.”
