Trump Says Pentagon Should Consider Disciplinary Action Against Lt. Col. Vindman

President Donald Trump indicated Tuesday that he was unsatisfied with ousting Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman from the White House and that he would like to see the military consider disciplinary action after testifying against the president in the House impeachment hearings.

“That’s going to be up to the military,” Trump told reporters Tuesday, “But if you look at what happened … I mean they’re going to, certainly, I would imagine, take a look at that.”

Last week, Vindman was escorted out of the White House and fired from his position as the top Ukraine expert on the National Security Council. His twin brother, Yvegny Vindman, was fired at the same time.

“We sent him on his way to a much different location, and the military can handle him any way they want,” Trump said in the Oval Office on Tuesday. “General Milley has him now,” he continued, referring to Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

“I congratulate General Milley. He can have him. And his brother, also. We’ll find out. We will find out. But he reported very inaccurate things,” Trump added.
