Trump Says He Can’t Call His Daughter Ivanka Trump “Beautiful” Due To Political Correctness

While introducing his daughter Ivanka Trump at a Cleveland rally on Monday, President Trump said that he would refrain from calling any woman beautiful due to political correctness concerns.

“Now I don’t know if they’ll say this is nepotism, but the truth is she’s a very, very — you’re not allowed to use the word ‘beautiful’ anymore when you talk about women, you’re not allowed, no, no, it’s politically incorrect,” Trump said.

Speaking directly to the men in attendance, Trump sarcastically told them to pledge with him that they would never again compliment a woman’s appearance.

“I will never call a woman beautiful again, and every man here, every man here, raise your hand, you will never say your wife, your girlfriend, anybody is beautiful, right?” Trump told them.

He then brought his daughter on stage, saying, “I’m not allowed to say, because it’s my daughter Ivanka, but she’s really smart … shall I bring her up?

Past comments made by the president about his daughter’s appearance inspired confusion over their odd tone.

In a 2006 episode of ABC’s The View, Trump told the hosts that “if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps, I would be dating her.”

Later in 2013 on an episode of The Wendy Williams Show where both he and Ivanka were asked what they had in common, Ivanka responded by saying either “real estate or golf,” to which Trump said, “Well, I was going to say sex.”

Trump has also received backlash for comments made against notable female critics. In 2011, Trump sent journalist Gail Collins a picture of her own face with the words “the face of a dog!” written on it in response to an article about bankruptcy rumors.

Most recently, Trump was accused of paying porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 during the 2016 presidential election to keep quiet about their alleged affair.

He succeeded in getting a defamation lawsuit filed by Daniels and her lawyer Michael Avenatti dismissed, though questions remain over whether the payment given to her by Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen constitutes a campaign finance violation.
