Trump Said Journalists Should Be ‘Executed,’ Bolton’s Book Reveals

Former National Security Advisor John Bolton’s book, The Room Where It Happened, reveals that President Donald Trump privately said that journalists are “scumbags” who should be “executed” during a 2019 meeting in New Jersey,

Even before Trump’s presidency began in 2017, he regularly attacked the media during his campaign events.

In January 2018 Trump told reporters, “We are going to take a strong look at our country’s libel laws, so that when somebody says something that is false and defamatory about someone, that person will have meaningful recourse in our courts.”

The book also focuses on Trump’s foreign policy approach to authoritarian leaders such as Chinese President Xi Jinping. According to Bolton, Trump asked Xi to buy American agriculture products to support farmers to help his election chances this November.
