Michael Cohen’s lawyers called on Donald Trump to sit for a deposition that will take place on September 6 in Miami.
The notice came after Trump sued Cohen, his former lawyer, for $500 million in April. Trump claimed that Cohen spread lies and violated attorney-client privilege by cooperating with prosecutors in their investigation into hush-money payments that the former president made before the 2016 election.
In his complaint, Trump’s lawyer stated that his client had “Suffered vast reputational harm as a direct result of [Cohen’s] breaches,” and alleged that Cohen had taken part in the fraud.
Just last week, Cohen settled a lawsuit with the Trump Organization that he had filed in 2019. The lawyer was seeking $1.3 million in legal fees and accused the company of neglecting a contractual deal to “indemnify Mr. Cohen and to pay attorneys’ fees and costs incurred by Mr. Cohen.”

The former president was indicted in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the Capitol insurrection on January 6, 2021, earlier this month. He is also being sued for defamation by E. Jean Carroll, who he was recently found guilty of raping and making libelous statements about.
