Trump Pushes Conspiracy Theory After David Perdue Loses Race For Georgia Governor

After Gov. Brian Kemp (R-Georgia) defeated the Trump-endorsed candidate David Perdue, former President Donald Trump is pushing a conspiracy theory blaming Georgia elections officials for election fraud.

In a recent press release from his Save America PAC, Trump alluded to a Substack post by Emerald Robinson, a former White House correspondent for Newsmax.

“President Trump’s endorsement is the single most powerful force in the universe of American politics. There’s never been anything quite like it. Trump-endorsed candidates overwhelmingly prevailed in the latest GOP primaries by a margin of 24-4,” Robinson wrote.

Robinson further argued that since all of the Trump-endorsed candidates in Georgia lost, there should be scrutiny into the fairness of the Georgia elections. “That’s what makes the primary results in Georgia last night so curious and so suspect,” she said. “Georgia is the only state where President Trump’s endorsements did not count. Something stinks in Georgia. The numbers are funny because many of these races were rigged.”

The post has since been removed from the Save America page. Trump has backtracked on his endorsements of losing candidates, retracting his earlier compliments of the unpopular ones.

In an interview with several Trump aides, the Washington Post reported that Trump made statements referring to Perdue as “lazy” and an “embarrassment.”
