Trump Pleads The Fifth Over 400 Times In Fraud Case Deposition

A recently released video from the New York Attorney General’s Office shows former President Donald Trump last August pleading the Fifth Amendment over 400 times during a deposition.

This deposition is related to the Attorney General’s civil fraud investigation against the former president and his company.

In his statement, Trump claims, “anyone in my position not taking the Fifth Amendment would be a fool, an absolute fool.”

He then refused to answer any questions, instead repeatedly stating “same answer.”

Trump has said many times that “only the mob takes the Fifth.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) has sued the Trump Organization and Trump himself.

Her lawsuit claims that the company misled banks and tax authorities regarding the value of certain assets such as golf courses in order to get loans and tax benefits.

The pending lawsuit could result in civil penalties for the company of up to $250 million and a lifetime ban against Trump from doing business in New York.
