In a new Harvard CAPS-Harris poll, voters preferred former President Donald Trump to President Joe Biden by seven points in the 2024 presidential race.
The poll’s sample was more than 2,000 registered voters.
Trump’s lead increased with each addition of each new candidate. When independent third candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr. was added to the poll, Trump’s lead on Biden rose to eight points. When independent candidate Cornel West and candidate Green Party Jill Stein were also added to the poll, Trump’s lead rose to 11 points.
The results of the poll showed broad national concern about the potential candidates and a need for another option should the election once again be between Trump and Biden.
