President Donald Trump‘s campaign is struggling with disappointing poll numbers, and he is staffing up his reelection campaign by bringing back the veterans who helped him win in 2016.
Last week, Trump’s campaign already appointed Jason Miller and Boris Epshteyn, two professionals who helped his 2016 effort, as senior advisers for his reelection run.
Trump is planning to return to his rallies in the next couple of weeks in reopening states like Florida, despite the nationwide George Floyd protest and coronavirus concerns.
“Americans are ready to get back to action, and so is President Trump. The great American comeback is real, and the rallies will be tremendous,” campaign manager Brad Parscale said in a statement. “You’ll again see the kind of crowds and enthusiasm that sleepy Joe Biden can only dream of.”

CNN released a poll of registered voters nationwide conducted by SSRS on Monday. The result was disappointing for Trump as he was 14 points behind the former Vice President Joe Biden.
“When a campaign starts to struggle, it’s normal for a candidate to look for an outside set of eyes to come in and provide a fresh perspective or provide a new direction to the campaign,” said Kevin Madden, a former G.O.P. presidential campaign adviser who worked for George W. Bush and Mitt Romney. “That’s what the President is doing here. He wants his old crew of true loyalists who were there for his 2016 win.”
