Trump & Fox News Anchor Bret Baier Spar Over False Election Claims

Donald Trump and Fox News anchor Bret Baier disagreed over Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him during an interview that aired on Fox on Monday.

Trump, who has been critical of Fox News for the past few months, first told Baier that “a lot less” people watch the network than they “used to,” insinuating that the network has lost viewers who remain loyal to Trump.

“I’m no great fan of Fox,” claimed Trump, although he continues to appear on the network.

This statement came after Fox paid hundreds of millions of dollars in a defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems over false statements made by Trump and his allies about the 2020 election.

Throughout the interview, Trump discussed his theories that the 2020 election was rigged and suggested instances of voter fraud and ballot harvesting, to which Baier told him that these possibilities have “all been looked into” already.

“You lost the 2020 election,” said Baier to Trump, going on to recount the chaos that ensued as a result of Trump’s refusal to admit defeat against President Joe Biden.

“There were investigations of widespread corruption… There were lawsuits, 50 of them, by your lawyers, some in front of judges, judges that you appointed, that came up with no evidence,” said Baier.

Baier then went after Trump for the 37-count indictment that was brought against him earlier in the month, which claimed that he mishandled national security information and attempted to obstruct justice during the Department of Justice’s investigation into the situation.

“There was no document,” said Trump. “That was a massive amount of papers and everything else, talking about Iran and other things. And it may have been held up or it may not, but that was not a document. These boxes were interspersed with all sorts of things; golf shirts, pants, shoes, all sorts of things.”

When Baier asked if any of the papers discussed Iranian war plans, Trump said they did not.
