President Donald Trump targeted political foe Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) in a Twitter rant beginning Sunday morning.
The Utah senator was the only Republican to vote to convict Trump of abuse of power, a move which Trump says “hurt some very good Republican Senators.”
Later that day, he retweeted a random Twitter account who had posted an image claiming Romney’s son, former Vice President Joe Biden‘s son, Speaker Nancy Pelosi‘s (D-California) son and former Secretary of State John Kerry‘s son “are all on the board of directors for energy companies doing business in Ukraine.”
A fact check by Politifact found these claims to be false.

According to the fact check, Tagg Romney runs a private equity firm, Matt Romney runs a firm that owns shopping centers, Craig and Josh Romney work in real estate, and Ben Romney is a radiologist. None have any ties to Ukraine.
As for the other alleged sons’ dealings, Paul Pelosi Jr. once served on the board of an American energy company, Viscoil, but it had no ties to Ukraine. And a spokesman for Kerry told Politifact that his stepson, Chris Heinz, “has never been on the board of any energy company; nor has he ever traveled to or worked in Ukraine.”
Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, is the only one listed that had evident ties to a Ukrainian energy company, Burisma Holdings. His work in Ukraine lay at the center of the impeachment, as Trump had requested the Ukrainian government to investigate him and his father.
