Trump Donor Erik Prince Offers Plan To Pay His Company $25 Billion To Deport 12 Million Migrants Using ‘Private Citizen Army’

A leaked 26-page proposal for a $25 billion plan to expedite mass deportations has been circulating among Trump allies since December. A group of private military contractors have pitched President Donald Trump the plan to execute mass deportations through “processing camps” on military bases, a private fleet of 100 planes, and a “small army” of private citizens who can make arrests.

The project is being spearheaded by Erik Prince, the founder of the private military contractor formerly known as Blackwater and a major Trump donor, and former chief operating officer of Blackwater, Bill Mathews.

The document states that deporting 12 million people in two years “would require the government to eject nearly 500,000 illegal aliens per month,” an operation it recognized would be impossible without outside contractors.

“The idea that we could have a private cadre of bounty hunters going out on the streets and arresting migrants is frightening and would obviously be plainly unlawful,” former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement director John Sandweg said on CNN.

A White House spokesperson told Politico that “while White House officials receive numerous unsolicited proposals from various private sector players, it is ultimately up to the agencies responsible for carrying out the president’s agenda to consider and sign contracts to advance their mission.”

The project likely conflicts with federal laws that block the government from privatizing certain law enforcement by hiring private mercenaries. However, the law would not stop ICE from contracting private businesses for other operations.

The White House has yet to announce a position on the plan.
