Former President Donald Trump denied former aide Kellyanne Conway‘s claim that she told him he lost the 2020 election.
Conway wrote that she “may have been the first person Donald Trump trusted in his inner circle who told him he had come up short this time,” in her newly released memoir.
“Kellyanne Conway never told me that she thought we lost the election,” Trump said in a Thursday post to his social media platform, Truth Social. “If she had, I wouldn’t have dealt with her any longer — she would have been wrong — could go back to her crazy husband.”
Conway is married to George Conway, an attorney and political activist who is a vocal Trump critic. He founded the Lincoln Project, anti-Trump PAC.

Trump maintains that he only lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden because it was “rigged” and “stolen” from him.
“What happened in 2020 can never fully be understood,” another excerpt from Conway’s book reads. “There has been no silver bullet that proves Donald Trump was the rightful winner as many have claimed.”
Conway worked as Trump’s campaign manager during the 2016 election and as a counselor during his presidency until she left the administration in August 2020. They remained on good terms and Trump has rarely spoken out against her.
“Writing books can make people say some very strange things,” the former President added in this post. “I wonder why?”
