President Donald Trump is reportedly considering forming a new political party called the “Patriot Party,” as he continues to lose face with many mainstream Republicans, such as outgoing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who on Tuesday said the riot at the Capitol was “provoked by the president.”
Trump, who has mused about running again in 2024, has developed a group of extremely loyal supporters and rallied voter enthusiasm under the political umbrella of “Trumpism.”
In his farewell speech, delivered during his last full day in office, Trump said “the movement we started is just beginning.”
“Now, as I prepare to hand power over to a new administration at noon on Wednesday, I want you to know that the movement we started is only just beginning,” he said. “Together with millions of hardworking patriots across this land, we built the greatest political movement in the history of our country.”
