Trump Congratulates Kyle Rittenhouse On Not Guilty Verdict

Former President Donald Trump has congratulated Kyle Rittenhouse after he was found not guilty in his trial on Friday.

A Kenosha jury acquitted Rittenhouse of all five charges brought against him including intentional homicide. In a statement, Trump said, “Congratulations to Kyle Rittenhouse for being found INNOCENT of all charges. It’s called being found NOT GUILTY and by the way, if that’s not self-defense, nothing is.”

Conservatives and Republicans praised the verdict on Friday afternoon like Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-North Carolina), who has offered Rittenhouse an internship.

Civil rights leaders had a far different view. Derrick Johnson, president and CEO of NAACP, called the verdict a “travesty.”
