Former President Donald Trump completed a pre-sentencing probation interview virtually on Monday alongside his attorney, Todd Blanche.
Trump must complete a pre-sentencing report, including a probation interview, after being found guilty of 34 felony charges related to falsifying business records last month.
Trump attended the interview from his Mar-a-Lago home, and the call had additional security measures, such as not being held over Zoom.
It was also revealed that the interviewer is a female. Judge Juan Merchan, who oversaw the case, permitted Trump’s attorney to attend as well.

The purpose of the interview is to gather information about Trump’s criminal history, finances, mental and physical health, addiction issues and living situation. He may also be asked if he is associated with anyone that has a previous criminal record, as this is not permitted if Trump is put on probation.
The Trump defense team is expected to submit their sentencing recommendation on June 13. Trump is scheduled to be sentenced on July 11, just days before he is expected to be named the GOP candidate at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
It is highly unusual for a pre-sentence investigation interview to be done remotely.
The sentence may include probation and up to four years of jail time.
