President Donald Trump claimed his coronavirus infection was a “blessing from God” in a video released early Wednesday evening by the White House.
“I think this was a blessing from God that I caught it,” Trump said.
The video was Trump’s first appearance since returning from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Monday evening. Shot in the Rose Garden, the president is wearing heavy makeup as he assures Americans that he has found a “cure” to the coronavirus.

Trump was given an experimental combination of drugs while in treatment. In the video, the president singled out the high dose of an experimental antibody cocktail from Regeneron that he was given. He said that he had requested it from his doctors and attributed his recovery to its effects.
Trump called the Regeneron cocktail a “cure,” and said he would work to make it available to all Americans at no cost.
“I want everybody to be given the same treatment as your President,” Trump said.
