Trump Celebrates His Win In Turning Point USA Straw Poll, Calling Results A ‘Blowout’

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump reveled in his win in Sunday’s Turning Point USA straw poll. The former president called the results a “blowout.”

“Just heard that I (WE!) won the big Turning Point Straw Poll in a BLOWOUT, getting 85.7% of the Vote,” wrote Trump on his Truth Social account.

“Ron Desanctimonous came in a solid third with 4.3%,” Trump continued, purposely misspelling Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R-Florida) name. “Vivek for 2% and Sloppy Chris Christie, as usual, got big fat ZERO! Turning Point put on a GREAT event in West Palm Beach, setting all kinds of records, including in attendance!”

When asked who their second choice for president would be, 51% of conservative attendees voted for Vivek Ramaswamy, followed by Trump with 21% and DeSantis with 13%. Though asked not to, many attendees listed Trump as their first and second choice.

Roughly half of the conference’s estimated 6,000 attendees were college-aged individuals between the ages of 18 and 21, and the other half were of varying ages. Only around half of the attendees participated in the poll.

The poll also surveyed opinions on public policy issues, such as the war in Ukraine and America’s immigration problem.

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-Arkansas) and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez spoke at the event. It was reported that former Vice President Mike Pence, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina), former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and DeSantis were all invited, but did not attend.
