Former President Donald Trump urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to divulge information regarding Hunter Biden‘s foreign business deals with European oligarchs.
Trump specifically prodded Putin to look into a rumored $3.5 million payment to a company Biden may have co-founded from the widow of Moscow’s late mayor, Yury Luzhkov.
“She gave him $3.5 million so now I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it,” Trump told Real America’s Voice network. “I think we should know that answer.”
An attorney for Hunter Biden said that Biden was not connected to the company.

In his statements, Trump was referencing a highly controversial 2020 report investigating Biden’s business deals conducted by Senate Republicans that found Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina donated the money to what they said was Biden’s company as a part of a “consultancy agreement.”
Trump criticized President Joe Biden earlier this month for “going easy” on Putin after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine because of the supposed financial support from Baturina, especially after she was not among the oligarchs sanctioned.
Trump famously sided repeatedly with Putin on numerous issues including over the assessments of U.S. intelligence officials.
Hunter Biden is currently the subject of a federal tax investigation for his dealings in multiple countries, like Ukraine and China.
