Trump Calls GOP Members Of The Lincoln Project ‘Losers’ After Group Releases Ad Slamming His COVID-19 Response

President Donald Trump lashed out Monday night on Twitter after an anti-Trump super PAC, The Lincoln Project, released an ad that criticized his administration’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The president called the members of the Lincoln Project “losers.”

The Lincoln Project, which launched last December, is a brigade of disaffected and influential Republicans, led by attorney George Conway, husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway.

The minute-long PAC commercial, titled “Mourning in America,” blamed Trump for his weak response to the coronavirus.

In the video, the Lincoln Project claimed that Trump “ignored” the coronavirus at the inception of the outbreak.

“And under the leadership of Donald Trump, our country is weaker, and sicker and poorer,” the ad declares. “And now Americans are asking, if we have another four years like this, will there even be an America?”

Trump responded on Twitter.

The president asserted that he “didn’t use any” of the PAC’s founders or affiliated advisers in his campaigns “because they don’t know how to win.”

Trump also argued that “their so-called Lincoln Project is a disgrace to Honest Abe.”

“They should not call it The Lincoln Project. It’s not fair to Abraham Lincoln, a great president,” he continued. “They should call it the losers project.”
