President Donald Trump called Republican Pennsylvania House Speaker Bryan Cutler to try to overthrow the state’s election results.
According to a Washington Post report, Trump promoted several false claims regarding the integrity of the election and asked Cutler, “What can we do to fix it?”
“The president said, ‘I’m hearing about all these issues in Philadelphia, and these issues with your law,'” Cutler spokesman Michael Straub said, adding that his tone was along the lines of “‘What can we do to fix it?'”
According to the report, Cutler responded that the state legislature did not have the authority to overturn the selected electors.
