Former President Donald Trump has picked a fight with a formidable new enemy in the GOP. After prominent Republican strategist Karl Rove criticized Trump for his “wanting” CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) speech last Sunday, Trump fired back calling the revered strategist “a RINO” (Republican in name only).
Rove wrote a op-ed to the Wall Street Journal on Thursday saying of Trump’s speech at CPAC last Sunday, “There was no forward-looking agenda, simply a recitation of his greatest hits. People like fresh material. Repetition is useful to a point, but it grows stale.”
A majority of Trump’s speech at CPAC was dedicated to slamming President Joe Biden, who Trump claims had the “most disastrous first month of any president in modern history.” Days after Trump’s speech, Biden announced that under his team’s leadership, there will be enough COVID-19 vaccine supply in America to immunize every adult by May.

Trump issued a statement on Rove’s op-ed hours after its publication saying, “He’s a pompous fool with bad advice and always has an agenda.”
“Karl Rove has been losing for years, except for himself. He’s a RINO of the highest order, who came to the Oval Office lobbying for 5G for him and a group,” Trump said on Rove, the strategist for both of former President George W. Bush‘s presidential campaigns.
Rove laughed off Trump’s remarks. “I’ve been called a lot of things in my career, but never a RINO. I’ve voted for every Republican presidential candidate since I turned 18 and have labored only for GOP candidates since then,” Rove told Reuters. “I have a different recollection of Mr. Trump’s views on 5G and our conversation election night. I’ll continue to use my whiteboard and voice to call balls and strikes.”
