While campaigning in Georgia on Saturday, President Donald Trump suggested that Rep. Doug Collins (R-Georgia) should run against Gov. Brian Kemp (R) in the 2022 Georgia governor’s race.
Trump’s remark is the latest move in his feud with Kemp, as Collins considers launching a bid to unseat Kemp.
Trump and Kemp began hammering each other in the wake of the Nov. 3 election that Trump still refuses to concede.
Since late November, when election results were certified, Trump and Kemp’s battle has exploded, with Trump insisting without evidence that Kemp failed to protect the integrity of the election. On Saturday, Trump called Kemp again and asked him to help overturn the election results, but Kemp refused.

Trump repeatedly insists that the election was “rigged” in Georgia. He also blames Kemp for losing the state by a slim margin to President-elect Joe Biden after two historic ballot recounts have been conducted.
Collins, who ran in the November special Senate election and placed third, is one of Trump’s most staunch supporters.
Collins placed behind incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Georgia) and Democrat Rev. Raphael Warnock.
“Doug, do you want to run for governor in two years?” Trump inquired at his Saturday rally while he smiled.
