Trump Asks Tulsa MAGA Campaign Rally Attendees To Sign Coronavirus Liability Waiver Agreeing Not To Sue

President Donald Trump‘s campaign is moving ahead with its “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma next week. Attendees are being required to sign a waiver agreeing not to sue the Trump campaign in case they contract coronavirus there.

Trump campaign officially announced the first rally since the coronavirus lockdown began a three-month hiatus on Wednesday. The event will take place on July 19, at an indoor venue, the BOK Center, in Tulsa.

The website of the campaign, where attendees can sign up for free tickets, features a disclaimer stating that rally-goers will be responsible for any potential risks of exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Trump and other people involved in the campaign liable.

The original text of the disclaimer reads:

The website does not state any requirements for the attendees to wear a face mask or follow the social distancing rules.

The Trump rally is taking place despite the coronavirus pandemic that is still in full force in a number of states, despite starting the first steps of reopening. According to the University of Johns Hopkins database, the cases have been rising in 21 states, including Texas, Arizona, Arkansas and California. More than 110,000 people in the U.S. have died due to COVID-19 complications.
