Former President Donald Trump has announced the creation of a new social network, “Truth Social.”
“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable,” Trump said in a release.
“I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon. TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I’m excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech. Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!” he added.
This is one of the many alternative conservative social media platforms that have risen up over the past few years, but this is the first that has a figure as popular as Trump supporting it.

Despite the website not being public yet, it has already been hit by internet pranksters who discovered a signup link and took several important account names, including @DonaldJTrump, @DonaldTrump and @realDonaldTrump.
The announcement comes months after Trump was banned from Twitter, and most other social media sites, following the Jan. 6 riot on the U.S. Capitol that he was widely credited with promoting.
Details on the network are slim, but a closed beta is expected this November, with a public launch in 2022.
In addition to the website Trump also announced the creation of a new streaming service “TMTG+” that will feature “non-woke” content. The service is expected to host news, podcasts and even entertainment programs.
