U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson sentenced political operative Roger Stone to more than three years in prison for obstructing a Congressional investigation into Trump’s connections to Russia.
The sentencing follows the resignation of four federal prosecutors after Attorney General William Barr overturned their decision to request sentencing Stone to seven-to-nine years.
Over 2000 former Justice Department officials, from both parties, have signed a letter that accuses Barr of politicizing the department and disregarded his Constitutional duties as the chief-law-enforcer overseeing the case.
The letter also alleges that Barr has offered President Donald Trump preferential treatment, and fallen victim to Trump’s social media bullying.
