Donald Trump’s former economic adviser Larry Kudlow warned Americans on Fox Business Friday that President Joe Biden is planning to force Americans to drink “plant-based beer” possibly unaware that “plant-based beer” is the only kind of beer that exists. Beer is typically made from grains, hops and yeast (additives like gelatin are sometimes included).
This comment came as part of Kudlow’s wider criticism of the proposed Green New Deal, which Kudlow claimed would end the country’s meat and dairy consumption, even though the bill itself does not seek to ban these food products.
Kudlow added that Americans would be forced to “grill” Brussels sprouts on July 4th, noting that this act could be construed as anti-American since these vegetables first became popular in Brussels. “Speaking of stupid, America has to, get this, America has to stop eating meat, stop eating poultry and fish, seafood, eggs, dairy and animal-based fats. Ok, got that? No burgers on July 4th. No steaks on the barbecue. … So get ready. You can throw back a plant-based beer with your grilled Brussels sprouts and wave your American flag.”
Many Twitter users replied to Kudlow’s comments, calling him out for his remarks.
