Trump Accuses Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor & Ruth Bader Ginsburg Of Being Biased Against Him

President Donald Trump attacked liberal U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor Tuesday at a news conference in New Delhi calling on her to recuse herself from future Trump or Trump-related cases.

The justices are preparing to hear several cases critical to his presidency.

“Her statement was so inappropriate when you’re a Justice of the Supreme Court. And it’s almost like what she’s trying to do is trying to take the people who feel a different way, and get them to vote the way that she would like them to vote,” Trump said of Sotomayor during his two-day business visit to India.

“I just don’t know how they [the dissenting judges] cannot recuse themselves from anything Trump or Trump-related,” Trump continued.

Trump made his remarks in response to a Feb. 21 fierce dissent filing in which Sotomayor and Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer challenged the majority of the court over the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

The same 5-4 majority had ruled that the administration could begin enforcing a rule to deny green cards to those who are likely to become ‘public charges,’ or reliant on government assistance, in over 12 months within a 36-month period.

“The Government cannot state with precision any of the supposed harm that would come from the Illinois-specific injunction, and the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit has scheduled oral argument for next week. The Government’s professed harm, therefore, boils down to an inability to enforce its immigration goals, possibly in only the immediate term, in one of 50 States.”

Trump also fired shots at Ginsburg for her comments about him, tweeting:
