Texas legislators Saturday were set to finalized a bill that would impose new voting restrictions, which would significantly limit the voting access for its citizens.
The bill is likely to pass both the state’s House and Senate and is also favored by Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Texas), who has said he will sign the bill.
The bill would ban drive-through voting and 24-hour voting. It would prohibit election officials from mailing absentee ballots to all voters. Usage of tents, garages or any temporary structure as a polling location is also banned with this new bill.
Following the news, President Joe Biden Saturday called the bill “wrong and un-American.”
