Steve Bannon Calls Trump Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick ‘An Unmitigated Disaster’

Former White House strategist Steve Bannon said that Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick should be removed from all media appearances.

“I don’t know why Lutnick’s still doing media,” Bannon declared on his podcast, War Room. “Let me be blunt, Lutnick, who is [Elon Musk’s] pick for Secretary of the Treasury, I think he’s close to being an unmitigated disaster. We should see a lot less of Lutnick on TV.”

“We have to have a clear message so people understand what the process is,” he added.

He also declared that there is a “well thought through” process about President Donald Trump’s tariffs, which have thrown the markets off balance.

Bannon made headlines when he appeared at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington two months ago and seemed to make a Nazi salute on stage.

While speaking to Fox News host Jesse Waters, Lutnick was told by the host that “the factories being built in America are huge.”

“That takes years,” Waters added. “And you’ve said that robots will fill those jobs.”

“No, it’s really automated – it’s automated factories – automated factories,” Lutnick stated. “But the key is who’s going to build the factories, who’s going to operate the factories, who’s going to make them work: great American workers. The army of millions and millions of human beings screwing in little – little screws to make iPhones, that kind of thing, is going to come to America.

“It’s going to be automated and great Americans, the trade craft of America, [are] going to fix them, [are] going to work on them. They’re going to be mechanics, there’s going to be HVAC specialists, there’s going to be electricians, the trade craft of America.

“Our high school-educated Americans, the core of our workforce, [are] going to have the greatest resurgence of jobs in the history of America. To work on these high-tech factories which are all coming to America that’s what’s going to our next generation of America.”

On his podcast, Bannon replied to Lutnick’s statement about automated jobs: “We’re not doing this so robots have a better life.”

Last month, Bannon appeared for an interview with Chris Cuomo on NewsNation to share that he and other Trump supporters are trying to find a way for Trump to run for a third term despite the Constitution prohibiting it.
