Stacey Abrams is set to launch her cross-country speaking tour in San Antonio, Texas.
Abrams, a Democrat who is expected to seek a re-match in the 2022 race for Georgia governor which she narrowly lost in 2018, has been an active voice for voting rights who is believed to have contributed to the record turnout of Georgia’s black vote in the general election last year.
Prior to releasing her tour announcement, Abrams told CBS last week that she aspires to be the president of the United States in the future.
“Do I hold it as an ambition? Absolutely,” she said. “And even more importantly, when someone asks me if that’s my ambition, I have a responsibility to say yes, for every young woman, every person of color, every young person of color, who sees me and decides what they’re capable of based on what I think I am capable of.”
