Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was seen at the inauguration of Joe Biden wearing a face mask with the phrase “Come Take It” written on its right side, a reference to the Texas Revolution. Cruz previously used the mask to protest against requests to limit travel during the 2020 holiday season due to COVID-19 precautions.
Cruz also wore the same mask when he objected to the certification of the Electoral College on January 6. Since his remarks on the day of the riots, Cruz has had several staff members resign and endured loud calls for his disbarment in Texas and for his own resignation from the Senate.
During the Inauguration ceremony, Cruz tweeted a photo of Biden taking the presidential oath.
