Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) made an effort to avoid discussing the controversial abortion case in his state by employing various tactics.
Following Kate Cox‘s forced departure from the state to seek abortion treatment due to a fatal fetus diagnosis, Cruz managed to evade journalists, declining to offer any remarks on the matter.
When asked for comment, he told reporters: “Just call our press office.”
When the NBC News reporter told him that she had already contacted the office but did not receive an answer, he repeated, “Call our press office.”

Cruz has been vocal about abortion in the past.
When the Supreme Court made its ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson, Cruz expressed his views, calling it a significant and validating moment for the law.
However, his current silence on the matter might suggest that he is considering how the ruling could affect his chances of being reelected in November.
