Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) brushed off a series of tweets that President Donald Trump fired off at her, including one where the president promised to campaign against her when she is up for reelection.
Murkowski declared last week, “I cannot live in fear of a Tweet. That’s where I am now.”

Trump tweeted the threat when Murkowski praised a statement made by former Marine Gen. James Mattis who said in an essay in The Atlantic that Trump is unfit for the presidency.
Mattis said that Trump is “the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people” amid nationwide protests over the police killing of civilian George Floyd.
Murkowski supported Mattis and claimed that his words were “true, and honest and necessary and overdue.”
“I made the comments that I made. I stand by them. Again, I think it’s important that we have a president who is working to bring people together. And tone and words matter,” Murkowski told CNN on Monday.
