Sen. Lindsey Graham Says Trump Has Good Chance Of Winning 2024 Election

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) warned former President Donald Trump of the negative impact on his legacy if he makes another bid for the White House and loses in 2024.

“If you lose again, the history about who you are and what you did dramatically changes,” Graham told CNBC’s Steve Sedgwick. “If you come back, it will be one of the greatest political comebacks in American history. And if you get four more years, you can do big stuff.”

Graham, however, did state that while he told Trump he had “no chance” at winning the 2020 election, he believes that Trump’s odds look good in 2024 – if he can keep his personality in check.

“Whether you like Trump or not he was a consequential president,” Graham said. “I think a strong American president — unpredictable — is a good thing as long as you keep it within the boundaries.”

“His problem is personal, his policies have stood the test of time but has he worn the American people out in terms of his personality? Time will tell,” the South Carolina senator added. “But I’ll say this, after the Biden presidency, if there’s a policy debate in 2024, I like his chances. If it’s a personality contest, he’ll be in trouble.”

Trump still has yet to officially declare his candidacy in 2024, but he has hinted that he will many times since losing to President Joe Biden in 2020.

Over the weekend, he hinted to the crowd in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, at his first Save America rally since the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago, that he may “just have to” run again to “stop the destruction of America.”
