Sen. Lindsey Graham Called ‘Traitor’ At Airport By Pro-Trump Supporters

Pro-Trump supporters harassed Trump ally Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) while he walked through Reagan National Airport, according to videos posted on social media on Friday.

The backlash directed at Graham came after his scathing criticism of President Donald Trump after a violent pro-Trump mob attacked Capitol Hill on Wednesday. Graham, a close ally of Trump, criticized how the president handled the Capitol Hill riots, inciting further rage in the pro-Trump supporters.

“Lindsey Graham, you are a traitor to the country,” one woman screams at the senator in one video, as he walked through one of the terminals at the Washington, DC, area airport.

“You garbage human being,” a woman is heard yelling in one video. “It’s going to be like this forever wherever you go for the rest of your life.”

The Capitol Hill riot raged as a joint session of Congress had convened to count Electoral College votes and affirm President-elect Joe Biden as president.

At a news conference Saturday, one day after the attack, Graham said that the president’s accomplishments have been “tarnished by yesterday.” He also said that the attack “will be a major part of his presidency.”

“When it comes to accountability, the President needs to understand that his actions were the problem, not the solution,” Graham added.

Graham also called on Trump to accept the election results, “and [that] a new president will be coming,” also asking Trump to “turn down the rhetoric and allow us as a nation to heal and move forward.”
