Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) said he’s still in the race for president and that he is planning to take part in the next Democratic presidential race against former Vice President Joe Biden.
“Senator Sanders is still running for president,” spokesman Mike Casca said on Tuesday. “If there is a debate in April, he plans to be there.”
It is unclear whether or not there will be a next debate, or if the previously intended April date would be rescheduled due to the coronavirus which has infected more than 55,000 Americans. Nevertheless, Sanders has confirmed he is staying in the presidential race.
This comes just one week after Sanders said he would “assess” his campaign after losing yet another batch of primaries to Biden. Since then, many primaries have been moved to further dates and both candidates have cancelled all in-person events.

Sanders has continued to reach his supporters online by holding online town halls to speak about the pandemic. Biden has also followed suit, criticising President Donald Trump online. “The president says no one saw this coming. Well, that’s just not accurate,” Biden said. “The mindset that was slow to recognize the problem in the first place … is still too much of how the president is addressing the problem.”
