Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin
President Donald Trump hinted Monday that there might be another stimulus check for American taxpayers suffering from the economic crisis amid ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
During an interview with Scripps, Trump was asked whether he plans to approve another stimulus check to Americans. “Yeah we are,” he said. “We are.”
Trump, however, did not confirm if aid would come in the form of checks but focused the discussion on a stimulus package generally.
“We will be doing another stimulus package,” he said. “It’ll be very good, it’ll be very generous.”

Trump did not elaborate on the sum of the money Americans will get. “You’ll find out about,” he said. “You’ll find out.”
The White House has not confirmed issuing a second stimulus check. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, however, said the administration is exploring the possibility when he testified before the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
“I think we’re going to seriously look at whether we want to do more direct money to stimulate the economy,” he said.
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-California) and former presidential candidate Andrew Yang have previously proposed to send out monthly stimulus checks. In his presidential campaign, Yang proposed sending $1,000 a month for life through a “Freedom Dividend.”
