A woman linked to the far-right extremist group Groyper was convicted Monday of several federal charges after being accused of being part of the mob that stormed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi‘s office during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Riley June Williams, from Pennsylvania, was found guilty of six federal counts: civil disorder, resisting and impeding officers, and four other misdemeanors.
The jury deadlocked on two other charges: obstruction of an official proceeding — which could have increased the chances of a long potential sentence — and aiding and abetting the theft of Pelosi’s laptop.
Williams was taken into custody after the jury delivered the verdict. A sentence was not yet calculated.

According to prosecutors, Williams stormed Pelosi’s office after participating in the “Stop the Steal” rally, promoted by then-president Donald Trump based on false allegations of election fraud.
She bragged online of stealing the Speaker’s gavel, laptop and hard drives.
The investigation showed she intended to give the electronic devices to “unspecified Russian individuals.” A witness described as Williams’ ex-boyfriend told the FBI she intended to send the devices to a Russian friend but she ultimately kept or destroyed them after the transfer didn’t work out.
Willams denied she stole Pelosi’s laptop and claimed her ex-boyfriend “made up” the allegations.
When she entered the Capitol, Williams was wearing a shirt with the message “I’m with groyper,” in a reference to followers of the “America First” movement, who spread antisemitic and white supremacist speech online.
