Rev. Franklin Graham Compares Trump To Jesus, Calls Republicans Who Voted For Impeachment Traitors

Rev. Franklin Graham, the leader of an evangelical organization Samaritan’s Purse and the son of the late Rev. Billy Graham, said in a Facebook post that President Donald Trump was like Jesus and shamed Republicans who voted for impeachment.

Graham wrote, “the House Democrats impeached him because they hate him and want to do as much damage as they can. And these ten, from [Trump’s] own party, joined in the feeding frenzy. It makes you wonder what the thirty pieces of silver were that Speaker Pelosi promised for this betrayal.”

Graham, a regular preacher for his organization, is making a reference to the Bible where the betrayers of Jesus did so for 30 pieces of silver.

Trump has long attracted evangelical supporters. Despite Trump’s debaucherous past, many corporate evangelical organizations have stood by him throughout his presidency. The riots in the Capitol building incited by Trump, however, has caused several former supporters to now denounce him.
