Republican National Convention Website Shows Image Of Ho Chi Minh City Instead Of Milwaukee

The upcoming Republican National Committee encountered a mishap with its website for its convention after utilizing an image of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam for their imagery rather than Milwaukee, where the convention is to take place.

The Republican National Convention is set to take place July 15-18 in Fiserv Forum Arena in Milwaukee. Despite this, a banner on the Republican National Convention’s official website showed the skyline of the Vietnamese city.

A reporter for the Boston Globe, Sam Brodey, pointed out this mistake on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He later posted that the website had been altered to show Milwaukee and provided a link to the Wayback Machine, an internet archive that shows how websites have been altered over time.

The Wayback Machine shows that the incorrect image was used since at least February 2024.

The photo of Ho Chi Minh City appears to be an iStock photo posted by Diversity Studio in 2019.

The current image on the website shows the Milwaukee skyline.

The Republican National Convention is expected to nominate Trump as the Republican candidate for president.
