Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) lashed out at her fellow Republican firebrand Rep. Lauren Boebert (Colorado) over Boebert’s criticism of her endorsement of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California) for House Speaker following the midterm elections in which the GOP took control of the lower chamber.
“I’ve supported and donated to Lauren Boebert,” Greene wrote in a statement on Twitter. “President Trump has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. Kevin McCarthy has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. She just barely came through by 500 votes. She gladly takes our $$$ but when she’s been asked: Lauren refuses to endorse President Trump, she refuses to support Kevin McCarthy, and she childishly threw me under the bus for a cheap sound bite.”

The Georgia Republican has come out in strong support as McCarthy for House speaker, warning that though she leans far to the right, McCarthy is better than a likely more centrist candidate should McCarthy be unable to garner enough votes.
Greene was responding to an interview Boebert gave at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference.
“I’ve been aligned with Marjorie and accused of believing a lot of the things that she believes in,” Boebert said in the Monday interview. “I don’t believe in this, just like I don’t believe in Jewish space lasers.”
She referred to a conspiracy that Greene furthered in 2018 in which she credited “Jewish space lasers” in connection with the Rothschilds, a prominent Jewish banking family, for causing the California wildfires. She later noted that at the time she was unaware the Rothschilds were Jewish and that the theory was antisemitic.
After Greene’s response, Boebert said that she does support Trump and that she views him as the “leader of the Republican party.”
“I’ve been asked to explain MTG’s belief in Jewish space lasers, why she showed up to a white supremacist’s conference, and now why she’s blindly following Kevin McCarthy and I’m not going to go there,” Boebert added in an interview with the Daily Caller.
